Questions owners ask
Do I need internet to use Nivaas?
No. Nivaas works fully on your PC without internet. It only uses the internet to send WhatsApp messages and to get new versions.
Where is my data kept?
On your own PC, not on our servers. Nivaas backs it up every day to the places you choose, such as a USB drive or your Google Drive folder, protected with your password.
What do I need to run it?
A Windows 10 or 11 PC. For your warden, any Android phone on the PG’s Wi-Fi. Tenants use any phone’s browser. A printer and a scanner are useful but not required.
Can my warden use it without seeing my accounts?
Yes. Everyone signs in with their own PIN and sees only what their role needs. A guard, for example, sees only the gate register. Every change is recorded with who made it.
Can my warden use Nivaas in Marathi or Hindi?
Yes. Every screen and message on the PC, the warden’s phone and the tenant app comes in English, Marathi or Hindi. Each person picks their own with one tap, so your warden can work in Marathi while you use English. Printed receipts and forms stay in English.
Is Nivaas a PG management app or software?
Both. The PG management software runs on your Windows PC, the warden’s app runs on an Android phone, and the tenant app opens on any phone, all connected over your PG’s own Wi-Fi.
Can I bring in my current tenant list?
Yes. Import your tenants from an Excel or CSV file; setup includes this. If your tenant details are on paper, we can enter them for you, quoted for your PG.
Does it suit hostels and girls’ or boys’ PGs?
Yes. Floors can be for boys, girls or both, rooms can have any sharing, and stays can be weekly, monthly, by term or yearly.
How do updates work?
New versions appear inside Nivaas, and you install them with one click. Your data is copied before every update, so it’s always safe.
Is there an iPhone app?
Tenants can use the tenant app on any phone, iPhone included: it opens in the phone’s browser on your PG’s Wi-Fi. The warden’s phone app is for Android phones for now.
